1. Introduction

World Best Tester ("we", "us", or "our") operates the World Best Tester platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our platform.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly:

  • Account registration details (name, email address)
  • Team membership and participation data
  • Bug reports and testing submissions
  • Competition scores and rankings

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and maintain the competition platform
  • Manage your account and team participation
  • Evaluate and score competition submissions
  • Display leaderboards and rankings
  • Communicate competition updates and results

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • A4Q and its partners iSQI and GASQ, who run the World Best Tester competition
  • The local organizing board for the event you registered for (for example NSTQB or GeoSTQB), so they can plan and run that event
  • Competition organizers and judges (submissions and scores)
  • Your team members (team-related activity)
  • Service providers who assist in operating the platform, including our email delivery provider

5. Marketing Communications

When you register — either for an event or to register your interest — you are asked to agree to receive marketing communications from A4Q and its partners (iSQI and GASQ). These may cover sales, customer service, promotions, and information about future competitions and related offerings.

This is separate from the messages we have to send you to run the competition, such as your registration confirmation and your login credentials. Those are part of taking part in the event and are not marketing.

6. How to Unsubscribe

You can stop marketing communications at any time, in any of these ways:

  • If you have an account: sign in and go to Profile → Edit profile → Communications, and untick the marketing box.
  • From any marketing email: use the Unsubscribe link in the footer of the message.
  • If you no longer have the email: go to our unsubscribe page and enter your address. We will email you a confirmation link. We send the link to your mailbox rather than acting immediately so that nobody can unsubscribe somebody else.
  • By email: write to welcome@worldbesttester.com and ask us to remove you.

Unsubscribing stops marketing communications only. It does not cancel your event registration, remove you from your team, or close your account, and you will still receive the messages we need to send you about an event you signed up for.

We keep a record of when you gave your consent, the exact wording you were shown, and when you withdrew it. We keep that record so we can always demonstrate what you agreed to — withdrawing your consent stops the communications, it does not erase the fact that consent was once given.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. You may request deletion of your account by contacting the competition administrators.

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to processing of your data
  • Withdraw your consent to marketing communications at any time (see section 6)
